4 Tips for Surviving Spring Time Construction Zones

Spring months are infamously tied to an abundance of road construction and congestion. Remember these tips next time you find yourself stuck in a construction zone.

1. Be patient - When stuck in a construction zone, there is usually nothing you can do. It’s best just to accept the situation, and remain calm and patient. By trying to hurry everyone else and rush out of it, you will induce unnecessary stress and increase the risk of a collision. Instead, why not make the most of this time by doing breathing or neck exercises?

2. Remain focused - In slow-moving construction areas, it can be tempting to daydream and tune out. It is extremely important to remain focused in order to avoid putting the lives of construction workers in jeopardy.

3. Leave extra room - Despite temptations, leave extra room between you and the vehicle in front of you, in addition to the cones and barriers.

4. Open the windows - The slow pace provides a great opportunity to open your windows and enjoy the fresh air. This will also help you stay alert and focused.
Most of all, remember that this short-term inconvenience means improved road conditions in the future.
