stop signThere are a number of things that go into being a professional driver. Between extensive training, skill, attitude, respect, common sense, and focus, it takes a lot to be a professional driver. But there are many other things that drivers can do to stand out from someone proficient at driving and someone who is excellent at driving. One crucial skill is courtesy.

Courtesy is one of the most important traits of a professional driver because it encompasses consideration and thinking about how to move safely, as well as communicating with others, following rules, and taking all safety procedures to heart. It is imperative that NTB drivers extend courtesy to everyone on the road and off.

Very often we focus too much on our own needs and forget or ignore others around us, but NTB drivers are expected to be the best drivers on the road. We take pride in the reputation of our team, as well as our specialized and complete training for new drivers.

  • Be aware of things going on around you.
  • When in doubt, yield to the other driver rather than assuming you should go, which could result in a dangerous situation.
  • Think about how your actions might have an effect on others.
  • Always maintain safe distances and speeds.
  • Respect rightofway procedures.
  • Never take shortcuts on safety or consideration for others!

Courtesy can help to avoid a potentially dangerous or confrontational situation. Thank you to all NTB drivers for consistently being polite, professional, and courteous!
