It is no surprise that the U.S. couldn’t operate without the freight industry. According to the EPA (1), the Logistics and Transportation industry contributed approximately $1.5 trillion to the economy in 2017. The trucking industry alone transports 70% of the weight and brings in 80% of the revenue of all U.S. freight.

Despite, or perhaps because of, these huge figures, there are still not enough drivers to carry that weight. Transport Topics (2) recently reported that, while there are more truck drivers now than ever, there is a persistent shortage due to increased demand. With an increasing number of companies that now ship from their warehouse directly to consumers, the increase in demand to transport goods ensures a stable career for anyone joining the trucking industry.

With so much opportunity, the industry needs more drivers. At NTB, drivers are highly valued and we have a strong reputation of offering great benefits. Some of these benefits include a minimum 48 hours hometime on the same days every week, exceptional medical, dental, life, and vision benefits at affordable rates for our employees and their families, up to four weeks of paid time off based on length of employment—the list goes on. Learn more about the perks of driving for NTB and apply today.
