We get asked a lot of questions all year about what needs to be done to qualify as a driver for NTB Trucking. Find the answers to some of those questions below.
Does NTB accept recent graduates from CDL school?
Yes! Yes, we do.
While we don’t offer CDL-A classes, we do have relationships with schools we recommend and we hire new drivers directly out of school. We even provide 4-6 weeks of paid training with a coach to help you learn how to work within the truck driving system.
Having your CDL-A license is a requirement to drive for NTB. To help facilitate your education, we offer up to $5,000 tuition reimbursement toward your CDL-A schooling.
What, where, and how far can I expect to Drive?
NTB Trucking owns and maintains its fleet of trucks, so you will not have the out-of-pocket expenses that an owner operator experiences.
Most NTB trucks are manual transmission, but we do have a few automatics in the fleet at certain terminals. The trailers you can expect to haul are enclosed, are dry, and may be temperature controlled. We are 95% drop and hook, meaning you will drop the trailer at its destination so you can quickly be en route to your next pick up.
NTB is a regional full truckload carrier that runs primarily in the upper Midwest, which includes Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Northern Kentucky, and Eastern Iowa. Many of our drivers travel 2400+ miles per week, which makes for earning a nice living.
