It is NTB’s desire to be able to make changes that are fair and which will allow NTB to care for the needs of our drivers and their families. NTB is pleased to announce the following changes to the Driver Pay Package which went into effect on October 31, 2013 and will be reflected in pay settlements beginning November 15, 2013:

NTB will be calculating pay miles based on PRACTICAL MILES and will be paid from DRIVEWAY TO DRIVEWAY. That amounts to an overall increase of 6.5% in pay miles.

The Log Bonus will no longer be in effect.

We are increasing the start pay for our new drivers and increasing the maximum to seven years (instead of five). If a current driver had more than five years of experience when they started with NTB and have not reached “cap”, then as of October 31, 2013, pay has increased.

In an effort to help our Apprentice Drivers be more safety conscious, we are increasing the Safety Incentive to $0.025 (2.5 cents) per mile for their first year.

All drivers who have served NTB long enough to earn four weeks of vacation will have an option on their anniversary each year to elect to take a $0.01 (1 cent) per mile pay increase for the next year instead of taking the fourth week of vacation time.

The Production Incentive gives a permanent $0.05 (5 cents) pay increase for all pay miles driven over 2,200 miles for full time drivers, and a seasonal $0.05 (5 cents) per mile pay increase for all pay miles driven over 900 miles for part-time drivers.
