After putting in long hours on the road, it’s nice to stop and take a break, and there’s nowhere better to get that R&R than Iowa 80—the world’s largest truckstop. Located on the eastern edge of Iowa near the Mississippi River, Iowa 80 is a complex that’s over 100,000 square feet and is open 24/7—but that’s not where the fun begins.
Iowa 80 boasts amenities more comparable to a town than a truck stop. Some highlights include a barber shop, chiropractor, dental clinic, laundry facility, private showers, fitness center, and even a library. If you need a bite to eat, you can grab some home-cooked food at the Iowa 80 Kitchen, which boasts seating for 300 guests and a 50-foot-long buffet.
It even features a Trucker Museum and an annual Truckers Jamboree featuring antique trucks, a super trucks beauty contest, and live country music.
