Greg McDaniel has been with NTB for sixteen years. He became a truck driver after leaving the military, and decided to work with NTB for several reasons. He says NTB is a “good company to work for. Management and dispatch are great people to work with.” Greg noted that the equipment is nice, and he likes truck driving because he can be independent, help people, and work for a great company.
As far as advice for new drivers, Greg suggests giving it a try first. “It can be a rewarding career. If you like it, stay with it.” Experienced drivers know that the biggest challenge for most people is being away from home for long periods, especially with over the road trucking that can require being away for several weeks at a time. Greg likes NTB because he doesn’t have to be on the road for so long. “You work the same five days and are off the same two days each week so you can plan family stuff.” Family is important to Greg, and he likes that “NTB is a good, family-oriented company.”
Greg spends days off with his family and supportive wife Theresa, taking summer trips, and playing with their new rat terrier puppy, Lucy.
