It was January of 2012 when Kyle decided that he wanted to start truck driving. Like a lot of people, he worked at a factory that was letting people go. Seeking something more stable with steady work, Kyle got his CDL.
He’s been with NTB for a little over a year now, and loves helping people. Kyle likes “striving for excellence,” professionalism, and being a trainer to new drivers who are just out of school. “Everyone [at NTB] is very respectful. The higher-up positions have open-door policies,” he notes. “Everyone is available” so drivers can ask questions, or just talk.
New drivers learn a lot when they’re first out on their own, but Kyle notes that “the only way to learn is to try it.” He thinks that truck driving is the way to go, but there are challenges. Distracted drivers make the roads dangerous for everyone, and so do aggressive drivers. “Just back off,” Kyle suggests. “Take your time. Your safety is priority.”
Kyle is a family man whose first priority is his five-year-old daughter. He loves spending his free time and days off with his family, being outdoors hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and snowboarding.
