Six Fall Activities In The Midwest

Fall is a unique time of the year, full of exciting events like fall festivals, refreshingly cool temperatures, and beautiful outdoor sights as the leaves change. We want our drivers to experience and enjoy the magic of the season wherever they are. Here are six ways you can make the most of fall while driving for NTB.

Kiwanis Indiana Balloon Fest, Bloomington, Indiana

October 26-28

At the Kiwanis Indiana Balloon Fest, you’re sure to be more than entertained. From the release of fantastically decorated hot air balloons daily to fireworks and pyrotechnic skydivers (you’ll have to see it to believe it!), this fall festival is guaranteed to make an impression. This year, there’s also the draw of family-friendly, slower-paced events like hayrides and a costume ball, which help up the feeling of fall coziness!

Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio

September-November

Fall foliage is one of the best parts of the season. As a driver with NTB, you get a front-row seat to the shifting colors of the trees. Cuyahoga Valley National Park, right in the middle of our primary operating area, offers some of the most spectacular views you’ll get during fall. The drive along the access road is lined with colorful birch trees and other foliage, meaning you don’t even have to get out of your truck to see the beauty. Octagon Shelter is another in-car option that provides once-in-a-lifetime views.

Chicago Thanksgiving Parade

November 28

We’re all familiar with Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, but how about the one in Chicago?! Watch your favorite, larger-than-life cartoon characters fly overhead and enjoy carefully decorated, elaborate floats along the streets of Chicago. If you can’t make it to this fall event in person but still want to watch it, tune into the livestream on either PlutoTV and The CW26 channel.

Harvest Nights at Newfields, Indianapolis, Indiana

September 29-October 31

This fall event takes place in The Garden at Newfields at Indianapolis’ Museum of Art. Wander through moonlit trails decorated with thousands of glowing jack-o-lanterns on the Pumpkin Path of Peril. Experience the underfoot rumblings of the Ghost Train, then pop into the Mischief Manor to enjoy intricately spooky décor handmade by the museum’s horticulture team. Round of the night with a wide selection of yummy fall treats, ranging from apple cider from local apple farms, caramel corn, and giant pretzels.

Ahlgrim Acres in Palatine, Illinois

This may be the most unique event on this list, so if you’re looking for fun like never before, consider stopping at Ahlgrim Acres, a spooky-themed mini golf course located in the basement of one of the oldest funeral homes in the Chicago area. Shoot through nine holes of mini golf, moving through a haunted house and miniature graveyard!

A&J’s Halloween House in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The final entry on our must-do fall activities list was made for fans of Tim Burton’s 1988 movie Beetlejuice. Situated in a private home in the neighborhood of Bay View in Milwaukee, this interactive presentation includes nearly every spooky and fun detail from the original movie. What makes this fall event so special? The owners of the home donate all the proceeds to support local charities.

Now that you’ve got your fall-time bucket list sorted out, it’s time to fall into an unbeatable career opportunity. NTB has driving opportunities open now – connect with us today to learn more!
