NTB’s Truck Drivers are Connected Like Never Before
NTB truck driver Greg Hutchinson shares Peoplenet’s ConnectedDriver™ app with fellow driver Steve Crocket, while they enjoy food and conversation at the Driver Appreciation event in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
NTB worked with PeopleNet to develop the ConnectedDriver™ phone app which syncs with the PeopleNet in-cab device to keep you connected when you’re away from your vehicle. Today an update is coming out with new features to make life on the road even easier. Through this companion application to the PeopleNet system, drivers can now receive important updates and information while away from the vehicle – including dispatches, hours of service availability and messages.
NTB truck driver Greg Hutchinson loves that theapp allows him to have all the necessary load information with him when he goes into a shipper and that he can receive his notifications even when spending his wait time enjoying a walk. The app is getting rave reviews andNTB encourages all of its drivers to check it out.
The ConnectedDriver™ app has the following features and functionality:
- Home screen dashboard to view trip information
- View trip history, current trips and future trips
- View trip details and notes based on route information, ETA and appointments
- View miles traveled, gallons of gas consumed and MPG
- Message history available for all vehicles
- eDriver Logs™ Summary Overview
- Read-only messaging
Version 1.6 is available today and improves the experience for new users and makes messaging easier and more intuitive to use, with the following improvements:
- New help icon on the login and driver link pages
- In-app help for new drivers with guides on logging in for the first time and linking to their driver account in the PFM
- New introductory guide for first time users with information on what they can and can’t do with the app
- Application status is now indicated at the top when the app is connecting to the cloud for data or working on the user’s data.
- Messages are now grouped by person
- Tapping a person in the message list opens the conversation history for that user
