During warm summer months, we like to bring extra attention to our reefer loads, for obvious reasons. These reminders will ensure you carry and deliver a quality product for our customers.
1. Know the Required Temperature - You can find this in your dispatch information. Check the temperature frequently to ensure it is correct.
2. Keep it Clean - Always make sure the inside of the reefer is clean. If it needs a washout, let dispatch know. You can also keep a can of cheap coffee on hand to get rid of any unwanted odors. For best results, leave the can opened, overnight in the trailer.
3. Pre-Cool for Live Loads - If you’re headed to pick up a live load, make sure you pre-cool your reefer. Otherwise, you may be forced to wait for a period of time until the bed arrives at the necessary temperature.
4. Check the Required Temperature on the Bills - If it doesn’t match your dispatch, call dispatch for more information and further instructions.
Happy driving from the entire NTB team!
