Weekend Travel Advantages
The truck driving industry is a 24/7 operation. This lends itself to the reality that many truck drivers travel on the weekdays, weekends, or both. At NTB, all drivers are guaranteed a minimum of 48 hours off per week with extended benefits for weekend drivers. Following are a few of the benefits to working the weekends.
Pay
NTB pays an additional 6 cents per mile (in addition to your base pay) for working weekends which means working the same amount of time while earning more money. What's not to like about that?
Family
NTB understands that it’s hard to be away from your family so often. One benefit of driving weekends is that NTB will provide you with the the same two weekdays off each week. This gives you the ability to connect with your children in new ways. Only being home on the weekends means you may miss out on your children’s day to day schedule. Having your days off on a weekday makes it convenient to attend their after school programs and recitals. You can also take your kid to practice or pick them up from school—it can be nice to feel like a part of your kids’ daily life.
Easier To Make Appointments
NTB knows it’s not easy to be gone all week, especially when it comes to making appointments. Many offices are open 8 to 5 Monday through Friday, which does not accommodate a weekday driver’s schedule. With the same two days off during the week, weekend drivers have a much easier time making the appointments they need to stay healthy.
